Cardiovascular Related Core
The Cardiovascular Core provides cardiac testing services with shared facilities for both children and adults. The Core provides the technical services and expertise to conduct the highest quality research, provides research tests in a cost-effective manner, and provides unparalleled training opportunities in clinical research for investigators, fellows, student and technicians.
The core is composed of four sub-units which provide most services across the life cycle:
- Vascular Laboratory Unit
- Brachial Artery Reactivity (BART)
- Carotid Intimal-Medial Thickness (IMT)
- Coronary Flow Reserve (CFR)
- Near Infrared Spectrospy
- Mechanical Treadmill
- Pulse Wave Velocity
- Augmentation Index
- Lower Extremity Arterial Ultrasound - Exercise Physiology Laboratory Unit
- Maximal and submaximal graded exercise testing
- Resting energy expenditure - Electrocardiographic Laboratory Unit
- Echocardiographic Laboratory Unit
