Cell Culture and Tissue Core Lab
The Cell Culture and Tissue Core Lab provides immortalized lymphoblast and fibroblast lines, mononuclear cell isolation and processing, as well as new tissue and cell culture services.
  • DNA Isolation
     - Whole blood
     - Frozen whole blood
     - Cultured cells
     - Spit kits (saliva swabs for infants)
     - Buccal swabs
     - Mouthwash
     - Blood collection cards
     - Solid tissue (umbilical cords, paraffin blocks)
  • EBV Lymphocyte Transformation
     - Lymphocyte transformation, culture, and cryopreservation
     - Lymphocyte collection and freezing
     - Transformation of cryopreserved lymphocytes
  • Fibroblast culture and cryopreservation
  • Specialized Cell Isolation
     - Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs)
     - Urinary Leukocytes
     - Primary cell culture from tissue
New tissue and cell culture services are in development (e.g., human adipose and adipocyte, as part of collaboration with Institute for Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolism).
