| Office of Human Subject Advocacy and Protection (OHSAP) | |
| The Office of Human Subject Advocacy and Protection (OHSAP) provides consultation and guidance to investigators on issues related to human subject protection and in the design and implementation of data safety monitoring plans. RSA staff will serve as a liaison between the IRB and CTRC to unify the human subject protection issues related to each study. Additionally, the RSA program is accessible to research participants and CTRC staff, allowing RSA staff to respond in "real time" to concerns raised by research participants and staff. This experience provides perspective on HRPP programmatic needs for quality and process improvement.
Investigators should feel free to contact the RSA for advice on constructing data safety monitoring plans or on any other issues related to human subject protection. The RSA is available for consultation before a protocol is submitted to the CTRC, as well as for human subject issues occurring at any time after a protocol commences. Contacts: Adult
