TACTO is an organization within the Clinical and Translational Research Center designed to provide infrastructural and logistical support to investigators across the PENN/CHOP clinical research enterprise. Specifically TACTO will:
- Coordinate with other ITMAT offices to develop, implement and provide an array of central support resources designed to facilitate the clinical trials operations processes;
- Reduce administrative burdens to investigator and research teams;
- Enhance study management and oversight.
This includes overseeing two divisions of TACTO, the Research Coordination Core (RCC) and the Research Operations Core (ROC).
Research Coordination Core (RCC)
The RCC will provide a well-trained, experienced pool of clinical research coordinators and project managers. This service can be used as a subcontracted resource to staff department-based research teams with research coordinators, or at the project management level managing workflow across department-based research coordinators or across Penn/CHOP research sites for a given project. The RCC will be responsible for harmonizing the site-based best operational practices across the various research coordinator pools.
Research Operations Core (ROC)
The ROC will focus on supporting research network development, multi-site trial coordination for projects where Penn/CHOP are the central coordinating center, study committee administrative support, outsourcing services, and oversight of implementation of study management IT solutions.
